「帶著香草進校園」對研究者而言,最初只是單純地參與一項有意義的志願服務工作,用心完成專案於「生命教育」的任務。隨著與孩子們相處時間的積累,參與的形式與功能起了變化,「香草老師」的作用超乎預期;又因為,在法鼓文理學院生命教育學程的學習,對於香草專案所賦予的角色,有了不同的覺察和反思。引發研究者從生命關懷的面向,去省視「香草老師」的功能、價值與影響。嘗試以教學現場實際發生的事件進行探究,以確認「香草老師」於生命關懷的作用,進一步建構可以依循的路徑;讓「以生命關懷生命,以生命感動生命」不只是一句口號,而是能夠成為關懷生命的信念。同時,這樣的關懷能夠呈現「香草老師」(關懷者)於生命關懷實踐行動上的樣態,對孩子們(被關懷者)發揮關懷功能。
因此,研究者藉由過去七個學期的現場教學經歷,將個人與他人相遇後,實際運作所看見的現象,以及事件的文字紀錄,從生命關懷的角度進行探索。由於研究者本身就是香草老師,成為探討的研究對象。故以下研究透過故事的敘述,結合文獻分析的方式,以瞭解關懷者與被關懷者交互影響後的感受與覺察,進行反思,作為本研究的研究方法和目的。 This research aims to explore the phenomena that takes place between people in the educational field, caused by the situations and interactions of life care. The purpose is for care to play a role between the caretaker/Herbalism Class teacher and the cared for/child, allowing the Herbalism Class teacher to become a “companion” and “guide” in the child’s life. Initially for the research, “Introducing Herbalism Class to Schools” started simply with the desire to volunteer in meaningful work and to complete the mission of “life education”. The form and function of the volunteer work began to change as more time was spent with the children. Along with the researcher’s studies of life care at Dharma Drum Institute of Liberal Arts, there was a different awareness and perception of the role of a Herbalism Class teacher, which exceeded all expectations. This led the researcher to examine the function, value and influence of a Herbalism Class teacher through the perspective of life care. The role of a Herbalism Class teacher can be confirmed through real teaching experience in the education field, further building and validating this replicable path, where “caring for life with life, touching life with life” is not just a slogan, but a mantra for life care, enabling the cared for/child to also express care, and providing reference for future Herbalism Class teachers. This research is neither a case study, action study or program evaluation, as it was an unplanned topic of research, with basis in experiences of the searcher and encounters with others. It was conducted through personal, interpersonal and documented experience from seven semesters of on-site teaching experience as a Herbalism class teacher. Therefore, combining personal experience with literature review, explored through the perspective of life care, as the research method to understand the effects of the relationship between the carer and the cared for/child. |
