Authors: | 黃婉君 | Keywords: | 馬來西亞佛教;竺摩法師;佛教藝術;人間佛教;Malaysian Buddhist;Venerable Zhu Mo;Buddhist art;Humanistic Buddhism | Issue Date: | Feb-2020 | Abstract: | 太虛大師是中國佛教的革命之父,大力提倡中國佛教必須現代化,主張人間佛教思想。太虛法師雖在他的有生之年沒有完成他的理想,但是他的下一代努力實現他的理想。竺摩法師即是馬來西亞佛教史上弘揚人間佛教思想最具代表性的人物。竺摩法師在漢傳馬來西亞佛教的地位,有如白聖長老在戰後台灣佛教的地位,也如同覺光法師在香港佛教的地位。竺摩法師在佛法上繼承了太虛大師人間佛教的思想,在藝術上他學習嶺南派大師高劍父的藝術風格。佛法與藝術的結合,他巧妙地將佛法活潑的推廣給社會大眾,令大眾很欣然地接受佛教的真善美。本文就過去學界的研究基礎上,從個人的觀察來理解竺摩法師對馬來西亞、東南亞、美洲的影響,全文從竺摩法師的生平事蹟、弘法成就、藝術成就、佛教思想等方面進行探討。 Venerable Taixu was the Father of the Chinese Buddhist revolution, he promoted the modernization of Chinese Buddhism and advocated humanistic Buddhist thought. Although he didn’t realize his dream in his life, the next generation of his students realized his dream. Venerable Zhu Mo was the representative of humanistic Buddhism in Malaysian Buddhist history. The status of Venerable Zhumo in Chinese Buddhism in Malaysia is comparable to the status of Venerable Baisheng in post-war Taiwan; or venerable Jueguang in Hong Kong. In terms of the Dharma, he inherited the ideas of Taixu’s humanistic Buddhist. In the terms of art, he learnt the style of Cao Jianfu. He combined Dharma and Art, and cleverly spread the Dharma in a lively manner to the general public, letting general people gladly accept the true, the good, the beauty of the Dharma. This work is based partly on my research, and personal observations on the impact of Venerable of Zhumo in Malaysia, Southeast Asia and America. This thesis explores the life story, Dharma teaching, artistic achievements, and Buddhist thought of Venerable Zhu Mo. |
