This research demonstrates the following: First, the result of the trust analysis shows that, in the development process of the Taomi Eco-village, the New Homeland Foundation had the highest degree of centrality and betweenness centrality, and has maintained more contacts with local activists. Therefore, the New Homeland Foundation was more active in the network and also played the role of a structural hole. This is mainly due to the long-term companionship and assistance in community development that the New Homeland Foundation offered the village. Second, the result of regulation analysis shows that members shared their values through community regulations and conventions. Finally, the results of the social network analysis show that the New Homeland Foundation gradually created the vision of reconstruction, consolidated network interaction, and paved the way for constructing a democratic autonomy for the village. In sum, the social capital and social network constructed by the Taomi Eco-village have been used to lay the foundation for promoting community development and industries, leading it towards an eco-village ideal. |
